Used mild cheddar on pizza and failed!?

i used asda mild cheddar but it didn't melt and burnt.used 200 c for 10-15 minutes.i wasted two pizzas. i have read that cheddar cheese work perfectly well. why it didn't. which cheese is best for pizza making and melt easily
