44 yr old woman dating a 28 yr old man?

Why do so many find this a problem? I try to find and date men around my age, but seem to attract men in their late twenties. Which consequently is my oldest daughters age. The man I am dating, is great, but my kids (ages 27,24 and 12) cannot get over the fact that he is pretty close to their age. This makes me sad. I care about him, and him me. I am not asking for advice, well maybe I am... if you have been in this situation, or have a view on it. thanks
