Is evolution a theory? Yes or No?

Theories are only theories, not scientific fact. However, there is strong scientific evidence that evolution occurs. My thought is that living species are always adapting to their environment, even if it's on a really slow progression. This is for basic survival purposes. At the same time, these changes do cause some species to become extinct. It's just part of the biological and physiological processes of living.
