I have a very sore throat, dry cough, and yellow phlegm. Help please!!?

A little over a week ago my throat started itching, which developed into a sore throat and then this sharp dry cough...eventually phlegm started forming and I have been spitting it up and at first was clearer but now is thicker and yellow. This morning I coughed up phlegm with some blood but I am pretty sure that was because of the dry cough making my throat raw, and it has been ranging yellowish-grayish-greenish consistently except for that one time. My throat hurts very bad but there are no white spots, I am positive it isnt strep and I dont feel sick. Does anyone have any idea what this could be. and any ideas how to cure it?? Please help, serious answers only!
